5 Tips for a Perfect Proposal

5 Tips for a Perfect Proposal

Are you thinking about proposing soon? If so, you’re probably wondering what goes into planning a proposal and how you can make it memorable. Here are some simple tips that will help you to plan the perfect proposal.

1. Find the Perfect Ring

The first step to planning the perfect proposal is finding the perfect ring. That’s where we come in! At Koser Jewelers, we are experts at helping our guests “speak without words,” which means finding the perfect ring to help you express how you feel about her. We are so grateful to have played a small role in thousands of love stories -- and we’d be honored to be a part of yours!

2. Choose the Location

After you have the perfect ring, the next step is to plan out the location of your proposal. It’s best to choose a place that represents who you are as a couple. So, you can ask yourself questions like:

  • Would she prefer an elaborate proposal or a simple one?
  • Would she prefer an intimate proposal with just the two of you or surrounded by family and friends?
  • Is there a specific location that is meaningful to both of you?
  • Is there a place she’s always wanted to visit?
  • Would she prefer an indoor or outdoor setting?

Answering these questions should help you to think through your options and choose a location that’s perfect for both of you.

3. Plan What You’ll Say

Regardless of your personality type, it’s helpful to have some idea of what you’ll say when you propose. You can plan out every word or just the gist (if you’d prefer). Planning will help you to alleviate any nerves and ensure that you express what you want to express. Just be sure to speak from the heart. When you do that, you can’t go wrong.

4. Ask for Help (If You Need It)

Depending on what your plans are, you may want to consider recruiting help from family or friends. Friends or family members can help you take pictures of the special moment, assist with transportation, or help you to set the scene.  Of course, it’s totally acceptable to do everything yourself. However, if you do need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it. And trust us, your loved ones will be happy to be a part of this special process!

5. Focus On What’s Most Important

No matter how the details of your proposal work out, remember to focus on what’s most important -- you’re proposing! At the end of the day, your partner won’t remember every word you said or every single thing that happened, but she will remember if you made her feel special and loved. Plus, the most important part of a proposal is that, when it’s over, you’re engaged!

Any way you choose to propose can be a “perfect proposal,” as long as your authentic and true to who you are as a couple. Don’t overthink the details. Instead, focus on all the excitement to come!
